Medical Staffing Network and W3d Announce January 2013 “Nurse of the Month” Winner

March 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Medical Staffing Network Healthcare, LLC (http://www.msnhealth.com/) (MSN) announced today the Nurse of the Month contest winner for January, 2013. The contest, which MSN has been co-sponsoring with local Carbondale radio station 107.3 W3D, honors exceptional local nurses. The contest is promoted on the air, and nominations were open to the public via the station’s website.

January's Nurse of the Month (http://www.msnhealth.com/corporate_news.asp) winner is Susan Shoot, RN, from Johnson City, IL, who is an ICU geriatric nurse at the VA hospital. Before working at the VA, she was a Mother/Baby nurse for 16 years.

According to the person who nominated her, “Susan goes above and beyond to make sure to accommodate her patients’ needs. She is always willing to do whatever it takes not only to make the patient happy, but family too. Susan is not just your typical RN nurse; she is a great asset to the VA Medical Center family. She is truly a gift to the medical field. It’s a great feeling to know that there nurses out there like her.”

Said Susan, “Working at the VA, I see return patients and always enjoy caring for them. They often remember my name and bring me chocolate.” She adds, “My greatest reward is when the patient thanks me for taking such good care of them and when the family compliments me on the care I give to their relative.”

MSN’s Carbondale Branch Manager, Shelley Zeigler, and Misty Stover from W3D presented the prizes to Susan, which included a Miller Spinal Health massage and a Houlihan’s Restaurant gift certificate.
