Mar. 5, 2013 - V. Taveras (Viancey Taveras) Born on April 20, 1991, in the Bronx, New York, is a Dominican American, Pop, R&B singer, model, and actor. A native of The Bronx, Taveras has a younger sister and brother and the cousin of actress Judy Reyes best known for her portrayal of Nurse Carla Espinosa on the NBC TV comedy Scrubs for eight seasons. At age 7 he found himself at shows performing after school and on the weekends. He made a short cameo appearance in then Motown Records Rapper Ray Benzino, music video for Shine like my son in early 2002. At age 16 he went on to pursue a career in modeling and found himself in many print ads. While attending The Academy for Scholarship and Entrepreneurship in the Bronx, New York, he decided to pursue his career in modeling, music, and acting. Throughout his senior year of high school V. Taveras became one of the new faces of Sean john. He was later spotted with some of the A-list Celebrities and caught the attention of industry executives. In 2009 he appeared on MTV with MTV Tr3́s VJ Carlos Santos. In 2011 he landed a recording contract with Universal’s Music Group and started work on his debut album. On March 29, 2012 a snippet of a track entitled Radio leaked on to the internet. In the spring of 2012 he starred as a Homeless teenager, a young teen struggles to survive on the harsh streets of New York City in the film Quicksand. V attended the John Bartlett Runway Show front row during the spring 2013 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at New York Public Library on September 11, 2012 in New York City. V recently recruited Montgomery Frazier the image guru to work as his personal stylist and creative director for his musical and fashion ventures. Montgomery is responsible for dressing up pop icons like Madonna, Cher, Duran Duran and MTV VJ Downtown Julie Brown. In early 2013 rumors flooded the internet that V is to join ventures with Jay Z and his RocNation record label. V. Taveras is currently in the studio finishing up his debut album entitled I.M.V. Musically, I.M.V. will draw from up-tempo and pop genres, ranging from dance-pop to electro-R&
B. The album is rumored to have production from The smith brothers (Ashanti, Lloyd, Ja Rule, R. Kelly, Jay Z) Ej Hoyte (Lil wayne, Sean Kingston) RedOne (Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull, One Direction, Enrique Iglesias) The-Dream ("Baby" for Justin Bieber, "Umbrella" for Rihanna and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" for Beyoncé) BlaYne Rutledge, Hit-Boy (Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, Kanye West, Jay-Z) . The lead single off his debut will be released in the spring of 2013. The singer's upcoming full-length debut album will drop in the fall of 2013.
