Tracy Walton studied jazz at the Hartford Conservatory and earned his degree in Music History and Literature from Charter Oak. For more than a decade he worked on the faculty of the Kent School and The National Guitar Workshop where he had the opportunity to play with world class players including David Bromberg, Vernon Reed, and Aaron Scott. He is the author of three books, Musicianship for the Contemporary Bassist, Theory for the Contemporary Bassist, and Bass Chord Encyclopedia. In 2007, Tracy accepted a full-time teaching position at The Marvelwood School in Kent. Throughout his teaching career, he has continued to write songs, play music and tour as a band and as a soloist. In 2010, Tracy released his debut solo album, Brand New Again. His second album is due for release later this year.
