The couple, who were dating since 2007, got married in 2010 in an intimate ceremony in Bahamas. The couple have a son Leonardo who turned two this year. Cruz had started pregnancy rumours after she missed the Goya Awards in Spain.
The Oscar winning actress had been nominated in the Best Actress category at the Goya’s this year. Recently, the 38 year old star’s rep announced that she was expecting a baby and that both Cruz and Bardem were 'extremely happy and very excited' about it.
Cruz had previously spoken of the experience of having a baby, she said, 'It is a revolutionary experience. That's the best way I can describe it. It transforms you completely, in a second!
She added, 'Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment, when you see that face, you are transformed forever.'
