This digital sign debuted at Compass Mark’s inaugural Riddle Quest Event. The scorekeepers were able to use smart phones to update stats and photos as they went around the city. The data went back to Google Docs and updated scores. The pictures were added by taking a picture and saving it into the public folder using Dropbox. The key was that it had to use processes that people were already familiar with and could get for free on their phones.
"The hardest part was getting the scores entered fast enough. Teams were answering riddles like crazy," said Zach Kolodziejski the lead interface designer at ConnectedSign.
The award was presented for the digital signage content expertise and service ConnectedSign provided Compass Mark for their Riddle Quest Scoreboard. Kate Brossman of Compass Mark said, "The ConnectedSign people quickly grasped our needs, and helped us refine them. Working with them on our project was easy, and they felt as invested in the outcome as we were. We had no idea how impressive the final result would be - it was eye catching and informative in an organized and creatively visual way."
