Follow on Google News | Goffs Ready to Run Sale at Kempton Park - Wednesday, March 27thKempton racecourse and Goff’s have paired up for the third year in a row for their prestigious ready-to-run horse sale on the 27th of March, with a catalogue of featured horses online to view from today.
By: Kempton The sale, which will see 100 impressive two year olds available for purchase, will run over the whole of the day, with the Polytrack open from 10am for a breeze where potential buyers can view what is available. The day ends with the physical sale within Kempton’s onsite Panoramic Restaurant at 3pm. This unique event provides both an enjoyable and worthwhile day at Europe’s most popular breeze up facilities. Visitors will be able to watch the breeze to enable them to carry out any necessary inspections, a process followed by lunch in the renowned grounds of the race course. The impressive sale is catered for owners that are keen to get racing straight from purchase and to beat others to the post with the event taking place long before other sales. It is also a well suited event for prospective winners with many previous purchases from the previous year’s going on to win future events. From the 100 sold last year, 50 races have been won by last year’s alumni with the first of these wins taking place within weeks of purchase. Despite only running for three years winners have also come from Norfolk Stakes and Queen Mary Stakes among others. The location is ideal for both national and international visitors, being based close to London and a short distance from the local airport Heathrow, which means the sale attracts a good number of international buyers as well as locals. Goffs Chief Executive Henry Beeby said: “We are delighted that following on from the huge success of the past two years, vendors have once again supported us with a superb collection of ready-made winners. Last year’s sales pumped out winners throughout the season and we believe there will be much more of the same this year. “ The catalogue features strong drafts from key leading Breeze Up Vendors with the highlights including Lynn Lodge Stud’s Henrythenaviagtor colt whose half-brother is a dual Grade 2 winner as well as being Grade 1 placed in the US (Lot 15) and Oak Tree Farm who also offer a smashing colt by the same sire (lot 70). As in previous years, the event has the backing of Mocklershil who has supplied a number of notable horses, with highpoints including colts by Hard Spun (Lot 38), Myboycharlie (Lot 30) and Exceed And Excel (lot 19). Gaybrook Lodge offer an Exchange Rate colt (Lot 77), sire of Reckless Abandon, while Katie Walsh commits an offspring of s Grade 1 winner English Channel (Lot 61) who has already won 6 times, producing four winners out of four out of a Grade 1 placed dam. Another favourite comes from Old French Furze Stables, a US Ranger (Lot 83) brother to three winners out of a Stakes winning dam.
