5th March 2013 MEDIA RELEASE MR_LLG_#
With International Women’s Day coming up on Friday the 8th March 2013, Liquid Learning has released a series of conferences aiming to empower aspiring and emerging women leaders, demonstrating powerful case studies of successful women and providing advice on how to overcome roadblocks to success.
Despite initiatives around the globe aimed to increase the representation of women in leadership position – statistics still show that we have not yet reached a level of equality that is acceptable in modern society. According to the Australian Human Rights Commission, Australia currently has the lowest percentage of women on boards compared with New Zealand, the US, Canada and South Africa. Also alarming is statistics showing that between 2006 and 2011, Australia dropped eight rankings from 15th to 23rd in The Global Gender Gap Index.
Challenges to women’s progression in the workplace have been studied in more depth in recent years, with issues to be addressed at Liquid Learning’s Women in Leadership professional development series including combating ‘Imposter Syndrome’, building emotional resilience and mental toughness, and workshops on improving negotiation skills.
With world-class speakers including Former NZ Telecom CEO Theresa Gattung, Executive Director and Founder of the Women and Public Policy Program at Harvard Kennedy School, Victoria Budson and more, the events promise to deliver an empowering experience for women leaders across all levels and industries.
