Council, the practice of listening and speaking from the heart, is TOF’s core offering. The Council practice fosters authentic communication, deep listening, and feeling of connection and community through a group process of coming together in circle, passing a talking piece, creating a spirit of ceremony and dedication, and communicating with mindfulness, honesty and clear intention. The Ojai Foundation’s Council in School program has connected Council with academics in over 60 public and private schools in Southern California. In addition to Council, TOF promotes sustainable community through intercultural exchange, seasonal celebrations, and permaculture education and land management practices.
