March 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA, March 4, 2013: On March 10, 2013, Paul Schrade, community leader, social visionary, and close friend of Robert F. Kennedy, and Judy Baca, social activist and muralist, will speak in honor of the historic meeting between Robert F. Kennedy and Cesar Chavez.  The meeting is represented in Judy Baca’s mural, “Seeing Through Others Eyes,” in the Paul Schrade Library at the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools building.   Singer and songwriter Omar Torrez will follow the talk with music.

The event is a fundraiser in support of The Ojai Foundations Council in Schools program, which works through the Los Angeles Unified School district to help create engaged, compassionate school communities through practices that connect academic and social emotional learning.  Council in Schools shares the dream with RFK and Cesar Chavez that being able to see through others’ eyes could lead to a more peaceful world, and uses the practice of Council as the primary tool for supporting this empathic experience.  All donations from the fundraiser will be matched dollar for dollar by the Herb Alpert Foundation.
