March 4, 2013 - PRLog -- In today’s competitive market, it’s no longer enough to be just a certified professional. Industrial hygiene professionals need a credential that will help them stand out from the crowd and for over 50 years, that credential has been the Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).  The CIH is the gold standard for uncompromised integrity, global recognition and career-lasting value.

The American Board of Industrial Hygiene has made the requirements for attaining the CIH demanding and consequently, the CIH is held by only an elite group of professionals.  This premier program has made those professionals who have earned the CIH certification highly sought after in private industry, academic institutions and government agencies.

Today, many HR professionals rely on the ABIH’s CIH designation to identify qualified candidates to fill critical occupational hygiene positions. Due to the CIH program’s longevity and global recognition, many job descriptions specify the CIH certification as a prerequisite to apply for an open position.

“Industrial hygiene professionals who earn the CIH put themselves in an elite group,” reported Tracy Parsons, CIH, Administrative Program Manager at ABIH.  “Human resources and head hunting professionals have come to depend upon the CIH certification as a way to identify highly skilled individuals for positions dealing with occupational hygiene issues.  Government agencies, institutions, private industry and international companies all look for candidates who have reached this highest level of professional achievement and recognition.”

ABIH has released a video about the many benefits of the CIH program that can be viewed at:
