The Stinger, developed by John Andretti, Andretti Autosport and Window World, is a tribute to the 1911 Marmon Wasp, the first winning Indy 500 car. The traveling vehicle currently showcases over 200 signatures of former Indy 500 starters. For each signature received, Window World makes a donation to Window World Cares, the charitable foundation of Window World, to support causes such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Veterans Airlift Command.
“As a business owner, a father of 3, and a Marine Veteran, I know how important it is to give back” Scott Williamson, local Window World CEO and President, says. “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Veterans Airlift Command are both great organizations and I’m proud to be able to do something to help.”
“We are excited to have the opportunity to showcase the Stinger this year at our home show, showing the local community how much we care about and want to help others. Giving back is part of our company standard, it’s important to us” commented Paul Palumbo, Window World of Bloomington’
Currently, the Stinger features that signatures of legends and drivers, including Mario Andretti, Dan Wheldon, Dario Franchitti, Buddy Rice, Tom Sneva, Johnny Rutherford, Scott Dixon, Helio Castroneves, Tony Stewart, Sebastien Bourdais, Adrian Fernandez, and Nicolas Minassian.
The No. 100 Stinger was unveiled at the 100th Indianapolis 500 in May of 2011. It features a yellow and black color scheme taken directly from the 1911 Marmon Wasp.
