March 4, 2013 - PRLog -- Texas Trust Credit Union moved closer in 2012 to its goal of becoming a $1 billion financial institution. It increased assets by nearly four percent, to $747 million.

Texas Trust also added 13,231 new members in 2012, accelerating its growth over the 8,900 members it added in 2011. Lending services, which include auto and personal loans, home mortgages, and commercial loans, grew nearly 24 percent last year.

The credit union opened two new branches in 2012 – one in Grand Prairie and one in Mansfield. Texas Trust also purchased a 78,660-square-foot office park in Arlington that will soon become the corporate office.

Texas Trust added several new convenience features to its service portfolio in 2012. The Texas Trust Mobile App, for instance, allows members to access account information, check account balances, transfer money between accounts, view transaction history, and search for surcharge-free ATMs from just about anywhere, anytime. It also launched SwitchAgent, an automated service that makes it easier for consumers who open a Texas Trust account to painlessly switch pre-authorized payments and deposits from their old bank account(s).

In addition, Texas Trust made it easier for members to withdraw money from their account for free through the Allpoint surcharge-free ATM network, with more than 43,000 ATMs in the U.S. and beyond.

Continuing its 76-year tradition of people helping people, Texas Trust offered more than 430 community workshops and events teaching financial skills to students and adults. Employees volunteered 3,720 hours serving various charitable and civic organizations, and the credit union gave more than $215,000 to schools in the Mansfield, Cedar Hill, Grand Prairie, and Athens Independent School Districts through its Spirit in Action and Spirit Debit Reward programs, as well as through scholarships and school sponsorships.

Beyond being recognized as a stronger financial institution with a four-star rating from Bauer Financial, Texas Trust was named a top 100 employer by the Dallas Morning News. It was also ranked as the best financial institution in 2012 by the readers of the Mansfield News Mirror and Focus Daily News, was named business of the year by the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce, and was ranked as the largest credit union residential lender by the Dallas Business Journal.

"We have grown in part because of the trust our members place in us," said Jim Minge, president and CEO of Texas Trust Credit Union. "In order to serve our members well, we must be good stewards of their money. Everything we do is with the member in mind."
Minge added, "Our members know they will get great service at Texas Trust, whether they have $5 in their account or several million. That's the Texas Trust way."
