Alandra Hensley- Urban Fantasy Novels

March 1, 2013 - PRLog -- I SAT UP with a jolt as I realized my alarm didn’t go off, and I scrambled to the bathroom for a quick shower. I was exhausted from the move from Denver Colorado to San Diego California the day before. My name is Elaina Tamsen, but my friends call me Lain. I'm seventeen years old and since I’m a new artist, I was signed to a one year recording contract with Geffen Records last Monday.

I moved into a tiny one bedroom apartment complex called: The Mariners Cove Apartments so I could start my music career off right. My mother Maria Tamsen is a famous artist who’s presently in Paris, France showcasing her exhibits to the rich and famous. My mother Maria Tamsen has also enrolled me in this private school called; Fusion Academy. Personally, I’ve never heard of it until I moved out here. I’ve just been humoring her so that I can really focus on my music career instead of some Academy.

I quickly combed through my thick tangled hair with my royal purple brush, gazed at my reflection in the mirror, I smiled. I have long black hair with hot pink highlights. That’s right. I said hot pink highlights. After all, it was a prep school and they were going to kick me out anyway. So I figured I would help them out a bit. I quickly got dressed and put on a faded pair of blue jeans that were slightly baggy, a tight black sleeveless shirt, my black Converse boots and I was good to go.

Because if you know me, I mean really know me, I don’t do skirts or dresses...EVER! Why? Simple, because they are so not cool. I practically scarf fed down a Twix candy bar that I had gotten for breakfast. I know. I know. A candy bar isn’t really breakfast but what choice did I have? I grabbed the stack of books off of one of the tall white chairs that I had purposely placed near the front door so I wouldn’t forget them. I snatched up my keys off of the white kitchen counter and locked the door behind me. I ran down the flight of stairs and hustled to the white 2013 Slug Bug that I had parked out in front the night before. An early Birthday present to myself, why the hell not right?

I unlocked the driver side door and dumped the stack of meaningless books onto the passenger’s seat. I slammed the door behind me, and the engine roared to life, and I was off. I drove down the highway and soon pulled into the school parking lot and prayed that I wouldn’t lose my car because of how big the lot was. I pulled out my class schedule because it had previously been mailed to me at my old house in Denver and I walked up the path that led to the main entrance.
