March 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Under new contract 227 schools across the district will centrally manage and account for instructional materials.

Austin, Texas,  February 26, 2013 – Dallas Independent School District, the 15th largest district in the country, has awarded Hayes Software Systems a contract that will provide consulting services and a centralized, web-based inventory tracking system for all 227 schools to manage textbooks and instructional materials.  Hayes’ solution will include its TIPWeb-IM software for inventory management along with system integration for the districts’ student information system.

“We are extremely proud to have been chosen by Dallas ISD as their partner in providing the district with a trusted software solution,” said Matt Winebright, Director of Sales at Hayes Software System.  “We are seeing large districts across the country establishing their infrastructure around instructional material management.  Our solution is a great match to what Dallas ISD wants to achieve and we’re excited to work with them.”

The TIPWeb-IM software system provides Dallas ISD school administrators the ability to electronically place requests for inventory to the district office and quickly manage the acceptance of new inventory without the need for asset barcoding. The system can also be used by district administrators to maximize existing investments by transferring excess inventory from one school to another school with an inventory shortage.

“This project is important to us”, said Matt Tyner, Textbook Manager for Dallas ISD. “Inventory control is not simply about physical inventory processes but also about real-time access and responsiveness to the needs of the schools, teachers, and students.  The critical outcome is that by doing this we know Dallas ISD will save money through efficiencies gained, accountability for losses, and by reducing any over-ordering of materials.”
