GrandMamma’s Prayers records a simpler time in life. A time when the social, economic, or cultural status of a person was not the determining factor of a relationship.
Life in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s was anything but uncomplicated. Yet, even with all the inherent uncertainties of these times, they were still some of the best of times and worst of times, all at the same time.
GrandMamma’s Prayers takes a nostalgic look at those bygone years. A time when a neighbor helped a neighbor without expecting anything in return: when a ride in an old wagon was the highlight of the summer and where Sundays’ were the official church days.
So often you will hear people say, “You know my GrandMamma always said …”or “My GrandMamma always did …” or “She taught me how to …” These were testimonials to the unselfish work and labor grandmothers carried out for their grandchildren and everyone around them.
“What readers are saying about GrandMamma’s Prayers”
“For those of us who were blessed enough to grow up with a strong family Christian mentor, GrandMamma’s Prayers speak to all of us. GrandMamma was an outspoken matriarch who loved the Lord and loved her family enough to make sure each of them were well acquainted with Him.” –Cassandrah Batya
“This remarkable testimony of faith at its best explodes with Godly inspiration and hope to all who dare to believe the promises of God. The simplicity and power of faith demonstrated in GrandMamma’s Prayers transcends all natural logic and human frailties…very refreshing…” –Doris Carmona
“When Pastor Langston gave me a signed copy of GrandMamma’s Prayer, I knew it would be delightful reading. I instantly recalled the sweet chastening I received at Grandma’s knee. I know from personal experience that whenever Grandma spoke, it sounded so good and rang out with such truth to your soul that it always gave me peace and calm. This book just might indeed save you from a messed up life, but more importantly keep you in touch with proven methods based on Christian principles handed down through the master prophets.” –Veodia Carroll
“Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down…and I am not an avid reader.” –Larry Deering
“Thank you for writing this book. I also had a grandmother that prayed for me.”
“This book is a bucket of ice water directed to a sleeping Church as well as a touching tribute to a little woman who reached great heights on her knees.”
–Dennis and Gillian Doty
“This was more than a book. It was a testimony to the power of a praying grandmother.”
“This book shows true examples of how God works. It shows there is no limit to what God can do or whom He can use. God bless the author. God is good, Amen” –Shennela Presley
“When my maternal grandmother went home to be with the Lord, and we were going through her personal items, the comments made were evidence of her genuine faith also. “She read through this Bible so many times we’ve lost count,” said one. And even though I only visited her once every other year, I always remember her having her Bible close at hand. That was the legacy passed on to my mother. I so desire to follow suit with my life and testimony, and leave a godly legacy for my children as well.” — Dara Bennett
“She’s the one who taught me about hard work. She’s the one who put off buying a new car or a new dress for herself so that I could have a better life. She poured everything she had into me. And although she can no longer travel, I know that she’s watching tonight, and that tonight is her night as well.” — President Barack Obama
