League of Women Voters is presenting three plays by local author and
playwright Rebecca Redshaw.
“A Conversation with Hattie McDaniel” stars Marie O’Neill as the Academy
Award winning
will voice the humor and passion of the amazing Hazel
Wolf, activist and community leader with strong ties to the Northwest.
Marianne Trowbridge actress form Gone with the Wind who offers her perspective on
life to Kathy (Port Townsend thespian Heather Dudley Nollette) who is
teetering at heaven’s gate.
Four seasoned actors, Charlotte McElroy, Elizabeth Kelly, and Helen Carrick
entertain with Hazel Speaks! Based on the book by Susan Starbuck, Redshaw
wrote Hazel Speaks! specifically for this event.
Appearing as Bobbi, a woman of humble means just trying to keep her head
above water as a Lunchtime Temp, Nollette opens the evening with a
“situation”
hard to fathom!
“Not only are the characters being portrayed amazing Women of Courage, the
actors who bring them to life on the stage are as well,” said Redshaw. “I’m
not sure everybody has a fascinating story to tell, but I do know that the
women I researched and the women I worked with for these performances are
dedicated, intelligent, enthusiastic about life, and fun. It doesn’t get
any better than that.”

Playhouse, 1235 Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles and Sunday, March 17, 2013 at
2:00 p.m. at Olympic Theatre Arts, 414 N. Sequim Avenue, Sequim. Suggested
