WIFTA Short Film Showcase Call For Entries Opens

WIFTA is currently accepting entries from independent filmmakers for its Short Film Showcase, which will be held on April 23, 2013. Interested filmmakers should visit WIFTA.org/events for full details and submission requirements.

March 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Each year Women In Film & Television Atlanta (WIFTA), often in conjunction with Women In Film & Television International (WIFTI), hosts a Short Film Showcase that highlights the work of talented filmmakers throughout the Southeast and beyond. The call for entries for the WIFTA Short Film Showcase, which will take place on April 23, 2013, is now open.

WIFTA is currently accepting short film entries from independent filmmakers from all genres - drama, comedy, action, sci-fi animation, spiritual / gospel and experimental. Eligible works must have a woman director, producer, writer, lead actress or cinematographer. Films must be shorts with a run time of 20 minutes or less (including opening titles / credits and closing credits) and must have been completed in 2009 or later.

Entry Fees & Deadlines
Online application regular deadline: March 21, 2013
Entry Fee: $15 WIFTA Members / $25 Non-members

Online application late deadline: March 31, 2013
Entry Fee: $25 WIFTA Members / $35 Non-Members

**The online application and entry fee must be completed by the date above. Submission packages must be received no later than April 2, 2013 to be considered.

Those interested in submitting a film for the WIFTA Short Film Showcase should visit http://www.WIFTA.org/Events to learn about the specific submission guidelines, fill out the online application and submit the entry fee.

This year's Short Film Showcase will be held on April 23, 2013. The evening will begin with a pre-screening networking reception, which will begin at 5:30p, at Apres Diem in Atlanta, Georgia. The screening will take place next door to Apres Diem at Midtown Art Cinema.

Winners are expected to attend the film festival. So, entrants should plan accordingly.
