The company’s sustainability initiatives include reusing inbound boxes and packing materials for outbound shipments, and recycling boxes that are not repurposed. They recycle waste paper, plastic and metal recyclables even though there is no recycling pickup for businesses in the region. Employees take recyclables home for residential pickup and electronics are taken to the local electronics recycling facility.
Dan Evans, the Sales Manager, stated that Saelig chose the Green Business Bureau over other green certification providers because, “They do the best job of systematically stepping members through all the aspects of being green. If there is an opportunity to be greener, it will be on the GBB checklist.”
