Book subscription gift service The Willoughby Book Club has teamed up with Book Aid International
From Monday 11 March 2013, every book subscription sale made by The Willoughby Book Club will result in the donation of one brand new book to Book Aid International
This move reflects The Willoughby Book Club's commitment to fostering a love of books, and to breaking down the barriesr to reading for pleasure.
Teaming up with Book Aid International also means that the organisation is able to support the invaluable work being done to increase access to books and support literacy, education and development in sub-Saharan Africa .

The Willoughby book Club

Founded in 2012, The Willoughby Book Club is an innovative, online start-up which offers its customers a personalised ‘booka month’ gift service.

Selling a range of book subscription packages (including gifts for babies and children, fiction lovers, cookery buffs and budding gardeners), the premise is simple…they’ll send a gift recipient of your choice a brand new book once a month, for up to 12 months. Each book is hand-picked based on their individual reading preferences and arrives gift wrapped in the businesses trademark packaging. The first book also includes a personal message from the gift giver.

The enjoyment of reading

The Willoughby Book Club was founded in 2012 by husband and wife team Adam &Chloe Pollard, who both share a love of great literature. The book club was launched with the primary aim of sharing this passion and encouraging as many people as possible to ‘pick up a book’.

Adam commented “By tailoring each book to individual reading preferences and placing it directly in the hands of the reader, we’re breaking down some of the more obvious barriers to enjoyable reading. There are so many great books and authors out there today, that it’s often difficult to know exactly where to start…that’s where we come in.”

Working with Book Aid International

In support of its goal, The Willoughby Book Club has teamed up with Book Aid International. From Monday 11th March, for every book subscription package sold by Willoughby Book Club, they’ll donate a brand new book to Book Aid International.

Book Aid International is a small charity, dedicated to increasing access to books and supports literacy, education and development in Sub-Saharan Africa. To date, the charity has provided over 30 million books to libraries in need of their support.

On working with Book Aid International, Adam said “It’s fantastic to have the opportunity to contribute to such a great cause. Book Aid International does truly remarkable work in improving literacy in the developing world, and to be even a very small part of that goal is amazing.”
