Idioms and Phrases always remained significant part of English subject universally but in India this part of English subject little more hard and creepy to the students from ages, according to recent survey called “Student Life and Exams” from LW Network with 20 Education centres and over 2000 students.

Idioms are of various types and they arise regularly in all languages of the world. And if talk about it in English language in India, for students and learners its weird set of few words, which has quite different meaning than what is look like. This is the real trait of an idiom which makes it too difficult to understand. Students have to remember these all idioms; no one can judge its meaning just by reading its word combination. And there are more than 25,000 idiomatic expressions in the English language, so literally this is one of the biggest challenge to solve the idioms of English subject test papers here in India.

According to one another report, most intelligent Indian students found totally zero in the “Idiom Section” of English exams, it further explains that due to their sharp brains and calculating efficiency they normally react according to the words given to solve one idiom, whereas the meaning is always different in reality, an intelligent physics or mathematic candidate would never want to waste his time to remember hundreds of idioms of English subject, he prefer to solve any physic equation.

There is funny example of one student’s answer of the question,
Write the meaning and example of this idiom: I can't keep my head above water.
The answer was:
I can't keep my head above water means unable to save the reputation or life.
Example: The drowning boy could not keep his head above water.
Isn’t it funny? The real meaning of this idiom is to manage to survive, especially financially.

Idioms are Phrases has become a central and difficult part of the English language test in almost all Entrance Exams like ILETS, SSC, LIC, Bank PO, NDA, CDS, B.Ed, etc. Idioms and phrases are known as Muhavare that Indians use it in Hindi language. There is online solution or say little relief for all the students who are scared of these obscure Idioms and Phrases, and that is the initiative by some anonymous, idiom bothered (but some intelligent) student, who tried to explain the basic and most famous idioms and phrase in very easy way with meaning and example, you can get these at http://idioms.in/ website. All the Best!
