Gloucester man creates innovative healthcare management tool

The web based application is designed to support physicians and home healthcare agencies by improving processes and ultimately the patient experience.

The Mainstream Healthcare Management System (HMS) is a fully integrated platform of business process management tools designed to support medical practices and home healthcare organizations.  A healthcare provider can maintain ICD 9 & 10 code tables, the ninth and tenth iterations of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Health Related Problems.  This is significant since all healthcare providers and related agencies have to transition to the ICD-10 diagnostic and coding system by October 1, 2014.

Other useful functions of the tool include scheduling, patient/employee/provider records maintenance, transaction management, as well as document/content management functionality.  The ability to file claims via EDI (electronic data interchange) with Medicaid, Medicare, insurance companies, pharmacies, and laboratories is another valuable function of the tool.  

The mainstream team’s decades of medical billing experience prompted the development of the platform.  Mr. Thompson states that every medical practice has differing needs so he insisted that the web based platform be customizable for use in virtually any situation.
