Distinctive Inc has committed itself to raising over $5,000 this year for Operation Smile.  In order to do so, we are having multiple team events during the first and second quarter to help raise money.  Our 3rd event, Football for Smiles, took place on February 17th, 2013.  Raising $300 from this event alone, we are at a total of $3,962 raised.  At this event, we had teams of 4 playing flag football to raise money.  Our teams came out in the cold to play for a great cause!  Not only did our office participate, we had employees from our newest expansion office in Pittsburgh, as well as their friends and families participate.

Distinctive believes that giving back to the community is a great way, not only for our team to bond, but to use our positive influences to give back to an organization that we love!  Operation Smile is just one of the charities that we support throughout our organization.  This is the 2nd year we have committed to helping Operation Smile and will be our 2nd of many.  

Operation Smile is an International Charity that helps children born with a cleft.  Every three minutes a child is born with a cleft. One in 10 of those children will die before their first birthday. The children who survive are often unable to eat, speak, socialize or smile. In some places, they are shunned and rejected. And in too many cases, their parents can't afford to give them the surgeries they need to live a productive life.  This is where Distinctive Inc can help.  For every $240 raised, we can help change the life of one child.  Our goal of over $5,000 this year will help many children born with a cleft.  

Our company also supports the Special Olympics Maryland, by participating in the Polar Bear Plunge.  We also support Our Daily Bread, The Chesapeake Bay Foundation and March for Dimes.
