Featured on Sunday’s Top Gear, the conversion featured a radical use of pensioner friendly accessories. From foam bumpers to coach wing mirrors and flare deployment for location tracking; but the pièce de résistance had to be the pair of Shackletons high backed chairs for the use of the rear seated passengers.
The maiden voyage of the vehicle featured elderly passengers; Miriam, Betty and Barbara, residents of Sunrise Senior Living in Southbourne, and sitting happy, it looked like comfort had indeed been achieved.
Jason Bloom, national sales manager from Shackletons says: “I have to say a call from Top Gear was not what I was expecting. However, keen to help and seeing the comedy value, we all totally embraced it.
"The ladies did look comfortable but ergonomically speaking I don’t think our chairs have a future in Fiat Multipla conversions!"
