Feb. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- CDLCalifornia and TDA Drivers in Northern California have teamed up to help individuals looking for new careers find stable jobs in the trucking industry.

This partnership is opening up a number of doors for those who have been displaced due to job loss, are recent college graduates, are veterans looking for rewarding work, or in need of a career change.

A job as a truck driver comes with a number of rewards, such as flexible schedules, an above average salary, the ability to travel, the opportunity to meet new people and much more.

With so many companies in need of local and long distance drivers, there are plenty of opportunities.

To be qualified for truck driver training through TDA, an applicant must be able to provide a copy of their motor vehicle driving record, must pass the TDA entrance exam, be at least 18 years of age, pass a drug test before behind-the-wheel training, must pass a physical exam, must provide a certified copy of their birth certificate if an out-of-state driver, and must provide a non-laminated copy of their social security card.

Admitted students are able to participate in either the Heavy Truck Training or OTR Truck Driver Training programs on their choice of the Sacramento, Yuba City, or Modesto campuses.

After graduation, TDA makes every effort to help drivers find employment. They do this by working as an employee-employer liaison, matching drivers with the right employer. Matching also increases the chances that an employee will stay with the same employer for the long-term. Nonetheless, the need for drivers is so high that it is easy for drivers to change companies if they need to and work with one that coincides with the needs and desires of the driver.

CDLCalifornia’s role is one that helps the future truck driver succeed in a number of ways. This is first done by connecting prospective students with truck driving schools throughout California. The second is by providing all of the necessary information to get started. The third is the CDL practice test so that those sitting for their CDL exam can have the practice needed to start.

Because CDLCalifornia and TDA Drivers in Northern California have joined forces, future truck drivers have more tools and resources at their fingertips. With these resources, they are able to increase their chances of finding the right school, graduating, and having a very rewarding and enjoyable career.
