Rujul’s journey in music began when, as a child she used to hear her father play
the Sitar and miraculously hum the notes to the utter disbelief and happiness of
her parents. She began learning music at the age of seven from her father.
Her rigorous and formal training in Hindustani vocal music started at the age of
14 in India with her guru Ustad Shaukat Hussain Khan of the Agra Atrauli ghara...na.
A Project Manager by profession with a post graduate degree in Business Management and Statistics, Rujul currently resides in the San Francisco bay area.
She regularly performs at concerts/events and is very actively involved in preserving traditional compositions from the musical lineage of her Guru.
