My Little Salesman research department compared truck and equipment sales totals from each quarter between 2009 to 2012, finding a generally upward trend in purchases of new and used equipment.

Top purchasing industries include groceries & related produce, local and long distance trucking, landscaping contractors, local trucking without storage, and rental and leasing companies.

Models in high demand include Carrier 69-NT-40-331 refrigerator container unit, International Prostar 6x4 truck, Thermo-King SB-230 trailer unit, Kenworth T800 truck, Freightliner M2-112 truck, and Peterbilt 363 truck.
