Feb. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Georgetown, S.C. – Whether you’ve resolved to eat healthier or shed a few pounds before swimsuit season, reading nutrition labels can help you shop healthier and make wiser food choices.
But sometimes packaging information can be a little confusing. To help consumers decipher the numbers and understand what all those words mean, Georgetown Hospital System dietitians are leading two free Supermarket Tours in March.
The first one is set for 5 p.m. Thursday, March 7, at the Georgetown Walmart at 1310 North Fraser St. Another one is planned for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, at the Pawleys Island Food Lion on Highway 17 at the South Causeway.
Participants will learn how to read labels and ingredients, pick healthy snacks, shop on a budget and how marketing influences our food choices.
Space is limited, so contact 843-520-8288 to register.
