Turn Your Passion Into a Paycheck: A Night with Eat Boutique

Eat Boutique Reveals The Secrets To A Successful Online Gourmet Food Startup At The BCAE

Feb. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- WHAT: On Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM get inspired by Eat Boutique, an online magazine and market for small batch gourmet foods. Founder Maggie Battista will lead Boston Center for Adult Education’s (BCAE) latest  “Passion Turned Paycheck ” class, a series that highlights local entrepreneurs and their successful business ventures, as she reveals how she turned her love for swapping and sharing small batch foods into a burgeoning niche entrepreneurial enterprise.

In 2007, Maggie Battista started Eat Boutique as a gift box service to share her love of DIY gourmet foods crafted by local producers. After selling out of her first gift box in 2009, Battista expanded to Eat Boutique Markets; intimate tasting events and convivial markets for food makers, cookbook authors and small batch food fans. Since then, Eat Boutique has become a hugely popular venture that has garnered press from The Wall Street Journal, Gilt Taste and The Boston Globe.

Battista will join the ranks of past “Passion Turned Paycheck” series participants such as Nella Pasta, Peak Organic and Crush Boutique to share with students how her passion for crafting boutique foods has made the magazine and market a success story. Students will be encouraged to share their startup ideas as well as their love of fine crafted food and drink.
