Fort Myers Physician Secures Trademark, Expands Services

Feb. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- The United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued Fort Myers Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, Douglas M. Stevens, MD, a trademark for his unique in-office facelift procedure, Active Lift™.

Not a weekend or “mini” facelift, Active Lift™ is a full face and neck lift. What makes it unique is where it is performed – entirely in the office under local anesthesia. While many plastic surgeons perform 20-40 facelifts per year, Dr. Stevens has performed as many as 300 in a single year. His experience allows him to perform the procedure under local anesthesia, eliminating the need for an offsite surgery center and extra expenses, which many patients prefer.

ABOUT DOUGLAS M. STEVENS, MD
Dr. Stevens has been in Fort Myers for over 15 years. He is double board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.

He is past president of the Lee County Medical Association, a member and past delegate to the Florida Medical Association, a past member of the credentialing committee of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.  He is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.), the Albany Medical College and did his training at the Bethesda Naval Hospital. He is the former chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the Great Lakes Naval Hospital and served 12 years in the United States Navy.
