EGS Press Tour "Experience the latest trends in digital dentistry", 14th March 2013 - IDS

Feb. 26, 2013 - PRLog -- Bologna, 16th February 2013 - EGS, leader company  in technologies for dental industry, will participate at the most expected event of the sector: 35th International Dental Show (IDS), to be held at the Koelnmesse fairground in Cologne (Germany) from 12 to 16 March 2013. The fair represents the reference point for dental professionals: the novelties for labs, the trends of the sector and the cutting-edge technologies of the dental market will be presented during the five days.

EGS first preview will launch two innovative, leading edge products for the company, on Thursday 14th March at 11 a. m. during the Press tour "Experience the latest trends in digital dentistry" (EGS stand, Hall 4.1/A013): 3D Intraoral Scanner for dentists and Digital Smile System, innovative software targeted at the dental technicians.

"Nowadays, using digital technologies became essential in dentistry" - EGS CEO Emidio Cennerilli says - "Digital modeling has rapidly grown in last years in consideration of the fact that CAD/CAM systems and new impression acquisition methods offer more precise and efficient solutions, in less time and at a lower cost".

The new EGS Intraoral Scanner allows the dentists to digitally take an impression  without the need for any impression materials, which are often perceived as very uncomfortable by the patients. he intraoral scanning replaces the traditional impression, greatly accelerating the prosthesis fabrication process by acquiring the information directly in a digital format. This simplifies the workflow between the dental office and the dental lab.

Digital Smile System (DSS) is the first software of Digital Smile Design allowing to design aesthetic and functional reconstruction of the smile by means of automatic tools. DSS offers powerful digital elaboration instruments to visualize an accurate preview of the final aesthetic result of the smile reconstruction treatment. Starting from a series of photographs, especially taken to univocally set the framework of shapes and dimensions of the patient’s face, the software performs a series of accurate and mathematically controlled measurements to verify alignments, symmetries and proportions. The photos are then elaborated thanks to the use of libraries of commercial and natural teeth allowing a personalized digital reconstruction of the smile.

Moreover, the dental solution specifically developed by EGS for dental technicians and labs will be presented during the Press Tour: Dental Suite, a complete solution for planning and realizing high quality dental prosthesis. The suite is composed by 3D scanner and CAD software with step-by-step interface guiding the user along the entire Start-to-Finish process, from the acquisition with DScan, to the modeling with DentalCAD, up to the milling definition strategy.

The Press Tour will be accompanied by a brief degustation of fine gastronomic specialties, specifically chosen, like EGS solutions, for the high-quality granted by their completely Italian production.
