The team was created by therapists and friends at Maria Droste Counseling Center as a way to raise money for its counseling programs. Linda McKinzie, Executive Director at Maria Droste Counseling Center, said, “Mental health and physical health are so intimately connected. Being active physically is effective at reducing stress and supporting one’s mental health. It’s a great way for us to lead by example and support both physical and mental health.”
Team members can participate by walking, running, cycling, or volunteering. They will raise funds to support critical programs and help ensure that all children and families in our community get the mental health care they need. Last year, members of Team Mind Body and Sole covered over 350 miles through the cycle course, marathon, half marathon, and relay and raised over $14,000 for Maria Droste Counseling Center.
