Just Pink for Girls™
Unique empowerment and self-esteem building event for girls’ grades 6 through 12
CANTON, MI, JustPink for Girls™ Event—March 16, 2013 — Just Pink for Girls Event™ is a brand new community event focused on self-esteem enhancement and empowerment for girls ages 10 through 18. The inaugural event will be held at Canton, MI ‘Summit on the Park’ facility. Projected to attract 200+ tweens in the morning and 200+ teens in the afternoon program, this promises to be an extraordinary positive experience for girls in the metro Detroit area.
Supported by local merchants and national brands, the event has a unique message of empowerment for the girls. “Young Girls in this day and age are growing up with more exposure to information arriving from many sources at a time in their lives when they are transitioning into ‘this is me’. Issues such as academic competitive pressure, appearance and body image, personal style, relationships, safety and health, bullying, and mean girls are top of mind”, says Christine McQueen, founder of iGen Interactive and producer of this event. “It is so important to be able to support girls by giving them a fun vehicle where they can learn, grow and be heard. Our goal is to inspire the girls to think about their futures starting at age 8.”
The event presents a smorgasbord of experiences, ranging from safe driving simulators, nail bar beauty makeover, money saving workshop, health and fitness, and much more. Girls can participate in pre-event and on-site contests, such as photo essays using their favorite social media Instagram, facebook, twitter, tumblr etc. Tween girls (8 - 13) are hosted during a morning program and teens girls (13 - 18) are welcome at the afternoon session. Each program will conclude with age-appropriate popular entertainment and a chance to win meet & greet time with the entertainers. Special guests include Miss Black Hawaii Schyler McDougle, Detroit author Jasmin Espy, and others with inspirational messages for girls.
Sponsors for the inaugural Just Pink for Girls event include:
Wat-aah!, 88.1 The Park, Best Bank, T-Mobile, Indigo Salon & Day Spa, Layers Beauty and Spa, Kolderman Dental, Let’s Reconnect, AAA Michigan and others.

About WAT-AAH!
WAT-AAH! is a line of functional water free of sugar, artificial flavor or color of any kind and tastes like pure unadulterated water. Rose Cameron , the CEO and Founder, created WAT-AAH! after learning an alarming fact that today's generation of kids are predicted to have a shorter life expectancy than their parents due to childhood obesity. Inspired by her two boys and Cameron's 20+ years of experience in brand building and developing successful national marketing campaigns for various industries, she and her sons worked together to design WAT-AAH!'s screaming boy logo and its first line of functional products, which entered the market in 2008. Since then, WAT-AAH! has aimed to make water "cool" and contemporary to kids and teens to encourage their consumption. WAT-AAH! is available in major supermarket chains such as Kroger, Giant, Stop & Shop, ShopRite, Shaw's, BI-LO, Food Lion, Ralph's, Whole Foods Market and many others as well as school districts nationwide.
