Nevertheless, none of these forms proved to be successful and MusXpand's development was stopped after two years of full-time work, in october 2012, after 28,092 releases and 173,506 lines of code.
MusXpand allows artists to upload their music, to make it publicly available or restricted to their subscribers, offers simple status updates, likes, reviews and a complete e-commerce cart system based on Paypal services. The site also uses Facebook's SDK to publish fans actions on their timelines (streaming, likes, etc...)
Philippe Hilger decided today to give the OpenSource community the benefits of his dedicated work and released MusXpand under the GPL v3 licensing terms, allowing any developer to re-use its code in similar projects.
MusXpand™ and the MusXpand logo are registered trademarks in the USA and Canada, but Philippe Hilger is already studying the opportunity to transfer the brand and any related design to interested parties.
