Onward & Upward in 2013- The Tripod Foundation Inc. Announces Location for 2013 Scholarship Awards

Feb. 25, 2013 - PRLog -- On Saturday, April 13, 2013, The Tripod Foundation will honor its scholarship recipient(s) with an afternoon banquet from 1 pm - 4 pm at Clyde’s of Gallery Place, located in the heart of downtown Washington D.C.  The theme of this year’s ceremony is “Onward and Upward in 2013.”  

“We picked this year’s theme to encourage the scholarship recipients and other students attending the awards banquet to continue to move forward and rise up in pursuit of academic excellence and personal objectives,” says Scholarship Awards Banquet Chairwoman Erika McDaniel.  “We want to be part of the legacy of these exemplary students.”

The foundation uses this annual event to honor the next generation of college bound students and it also serves as a venue to honor a special leader through the Excellence in Leadership Award. This is one of the most celebrated events for the organization.  Ms. McDaniel says, “We are excited to host this year’s Awards Banquet to celebrate the accomplishments of the Washington, D.C. metro-area’s brightest scholars and encourage their continued success throughout the future.”

Darby Baham, Executive Secretary of the Tripod Foundation, shares her enthusiasm for the event by stating, “I'm really excited about the formal afternoon brunch for our scholarship recipients, supporters, board members and volunteers. I think it's indicative of the way the board is constantly seeking to better itself and shows our commitment to the recipients, as well as to our supporters and donors throughout the years.”

This event is open to the public and all community members that are invested in honoring the next generation of leaders are encouraged to attend.  Tickets to the banquet can be purchased via the foundation’s Eventbrite page (tripodawards.eventbrite.com) until Sunday, April 7, 2013.

Mr. Lloyd Freeman (former Chairman) and Mr. Floyd Mitchell (current Chairman) founded the Tripod Foundation Inc.
