PRLog - Feb. 24, 2013 - TUCSON, Ariz. -- With the 2013 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo commencing on Monday, February 25th, there has been discussion in the media of the role ticket brokers play in the secondary ticket market for such events. A February 7th article on ticket brokers in the Houston Chronicle focused on the Rodeo cancelling tickets bought by ticket brokers for the explicit purpose of reselling at inflated prices. In particular, the article focuses on tickets to popular shows like George Strait’s visit to the Rodeo. What the article fails to mention is that some firms offer many tickets for some concerts at the Rodeo at below face value as well. Houston ticker broker My Ticket In alone has tickets available for prices under face value at four different concerts during the Rodeo.
For the 2013 Livestock Show and Rodeo, running February 25th through March 17th, My Ticket In has tickets available for shows spanning almost the whole span of the Rodeo. Beginning February 26th with country singer Gary Allan, the dates continue on through March. My Ticket In also reports that they have tickets available at under face value for the band Styx, performing a week after the Rodeo opens, on March 4th. Next, on March 6th, the Wednesday of that same week, is Dierks Bentley, an artist with ten number one singles on the country charts to his name. Finally, a week later on Wednesday of March 13th, another country star, Jake Owen will be performing, and My Ticket In says they have tickets available at under face value for his show as well. All the aforementioned shows begin at 6:45pm.
My Ticket In has been “Houston’s ticket broker since 2006,” offering tickets to a number of events, including annual mainstays like the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, one time concerts by a range of bands and performers, and sporting events in Houston and in other markets as well. The family owned, Houston based company never charges service fees and has sold over 2 million tickets to local and national events.
