Outdoors Queensland Film & Photo Competitions Open for Entries

Feb. 23, 2013 - PRLog -- Visioning the Outdoors Short Film Competition and ‘It’s Better Outdoors’ Photo Competition encourage filmmakers and photographers to show what they love about getting outdoors and hopefully inspire others to get active in the outdoors.

The theme for Visioning the Outdoors Short Film Competition is LIVE Outdoors, a celebration of the power of outdoor activities to enrich people’s lives. Short Film categories in 2013 include:
- 'Outdoors Queensland' Open 3-5 Minute Short Film
- 'PCYC' Outdoor Organisations 3-5 Minute Short Film
- 'SEQ Catchments' Youth 3 Minute Short Film
- Mobile Minute
- People's Choice

‘It’s Better Outdoors’ Photo Competition is sponsored by Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services and features six categories to inspire your camera work, including:
- Under the Stars
- On the Edge
- Wet and Sometimes Wild
- Natural Wonders
- Hitting the Trails
- Learning Outdoors

Interested filmmakers, photographers and people who recreate in the outdoors are encouraged to visit the website for more information on themes, categories and the fantastic prizes the winners will take home! You will find loads of tips to get you started and can also view winners from the 2012 competitions to get some inspiration for your own films and photos!

The competitions are open for the next few months, giving you ample time to  take advantage of the fabulous outdoor weather we have in Queensland. The closing dates for competition entries are:
