Life Insurance Brokerage Trusted Quote Commemorates Iwo Jima Anniversary

Feb. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- ROSEVILLE, Calif.— Trusted Quote, a top national brokerage of insurance products for life, long term care, vision, dental, and more, will commemorate the 68th anniversary of the famous flag-raising over Iwo Jima.  

The raising of the flag occurred on February 23, 1945 during the Battle of Iwo Jima. The occasion has special significance for Trusted Quote VP of Sales & Marketing, Ryan Pinney, who served as a Marine. “Days like this are often overlooked, but represent some of the most important in shaping the history of our country,” said Pinney.  “I think it is important for us to value our history and those who have gone before us.  The Battle of Iwo Jima shows who we are, what we are, what we do and the quality of the men and women it takes to do it.”

The Battle of Iwo Jima was one of the fiercest of World War II.  Approximately one out of every three Marines who landed on Iwo Jima became a casualty. The loss of human life in the battle totaled approximately 6,140. About the bravery of his men, Admiral Chester W. Nimitz famously said, “…uncommon valor was a common virtue.”
