Nierman Practice Management releases 2013 Dental Seminar Schedule

Feb. 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Nierman Practice Management, developers of DentalWriter Software, releases expanded 2013 "Successful Implementation of Dental Sleep Medicine" Phase I and Phase II CE Seminar Schedule. The highly acclaimed 2-day course educates dentists and team members on how to treat sleep apnea patients with oral appliance therapy. If a patient has been diagnosed with mild to moderate obstructive sleep apnea and has failed or rejected CPAP treatment, they can turn to their dentist for care. These seminars, part of Henry Schein's Sleep Complete program,  are taught by Dr. John Tucker, an ABDSM diplomat, who has successfully integrated dental sleep medicine into his practice.  Providing 14 CE Credits, the sessions cover identifying at-risk patients, oral appliances and treatment protocols. While the dentist is learning the medical model for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), their team members are trained by a certified Nierman Practice Management instructor about more effective medical insurance documentation and billing, as well as creating referral letters and progress reports.  Attendees of the Sleep Complete course have the opportunity to test out the overnight sleep study and analyze the results as part of a group session. Additional hands-on activities will be offered in 2013 to help practices feel comfortable with the home sleep testing unit, bite registrations and the DentalWriter Software.
