Feb. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- McLean, VA – The Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) will host two Bite of Science dinner events, at no cost, for high school teachers at the California Science Center located at 700 State Drive in Los Angeles, California. The events are scheduled for Tuesday, February, 26th and Wednesday, February 27th.  Both events will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Science teachers who wish to broaden their perspective of science in their classroom are invited to participate.

The mission of the Teacher Enrichment Program helps to assure a future talented and diverse U.S. workforce in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).  It focuses on best practices and resources, as well as exposure to the breadth and depth of scientific discovery often not available to rural and urban high school teachers and their students.  The Bite of Science professional development opportunities for teachers is estimated to impact at least 10,275 California students in 2013.

The Teacher Enrichment Program will provide content and information for teachers to engage students to pursue careers in science and technology.

“I commend the Center for Excellence in Education (CEE) for its dedication to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, “said Congresswoman Susan Davis, 53rd District of California.  “As a member of Congress who serves on the House Education and Workforce Committee and a Member of CEE’s Board of Trustees, I share your commitment to improving STEM education and providing our teachers and students with the tools they need to succeed.”
