The average price of homes for sale was $2,266,911, which was up from $2,004,304 in December. Likewise the median price of homes for sale - the number at which half of the homes listed for sale were for more and half were for less - increased 5.5% to $1,651,933.
"The Wellesley market has been very strong. Many homes are selling as soon as they come on," said Christine Norcross with William Raveis Real Estate who released the survey. "We are short on listings and looking for sellers to put their homes on now!"
The prices varied according to the size of the homes
- 2 bedroom - $399,617 - a decrease of 17.95% from December
- 3 bedroom - $723,748 - an increase of 1.07% from December
- 4 bedroom - $1,474,599 - an increase of 0.3% from December
- 5 bedroom - $2,182,849 - an increase of 1.84% from December
