Feb. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- How Our Teachers Can Become Culturally Responsive

Planting Seeds of Acceptance is now offering on-site Cultural Diversity Workshops for Educators.  Our 21 Century student population is undeniably reflective of our fascinating blend of world cultures.  This mandates culturally responsive teaching approaches that stay in line with core curriculum requirements.

Through the celebration of cultural contributions, presenter Ramona Moreno Winner, delivers information that promotes cultural understanding.  Educators are able to learn about their own cultures and the cultures of the students they teach.  This is helpful in understanding how some students and parents struggle in transitioning home cultural values to values required by our current school system.

“What makes Planting Seeds of Acceptance so unique is our ability to address large groups of educators at their worksite with minimum cost,” says Winner.  “What we have to share will help educators K – 12 be better communicators.  We provide information that empowers students and celebrates their cultures and traditions while respecting other cultures.  Educators will be left with a toolbox of ideas they can use in the classroom as an enhancement to existing curriculum.”

Award winning publisher and author of children’s bilingual books, Winner has traveled to 14 different countries around the world where she has experienced being a minority without language skills to communicate effectively.  As a professional speaker, she has been able to share her message of the importance of tolerance and acceptance with many educators around the world.
