New Pavement Applications are performed with a lay down machine to ensure a proper bonding. There are several types of asphalt one may use for specific jobs;
- TYPE ‘A’ Hotmix - Largest size rock, low sand mixture; Highway mix
- TYPE ‘B’ Hotmix – Average mixture of sand and rock; great for Roads and Lots
- TYPE ‘C’ Hotmix – Finer rock, higher sand mixture; less common Type used under certain specs
- TYPE ‘D’ Hotmix – Finest mix, small rock; Patching mix
- COLD MIX – Mixture
From A to D the difference represents the size of the rock and the amount of sand in the mixture. TYPE A is the largest rock and lowest amount of sand and TYPE D is the finest rock with highest amount of sand in the mixture.
For new pavement applications we apply the standard 2” thick asphalt. Any new pavement is going to require a sub-surface base application. The base will then be compacted and cure for about (24) hours before laying asphalt.
Any retaining walls, additional support or drainage concerns will be addressed during this process to ensure proper bonding that is durable and solid enough to endure years of weather stress.
The application require a (6) man crew consisting of; (3) heavy machinery operators; Lay Down Machine, Roller and Bobcat. There will also be (2) ground guys and (1) Supervisor. Our operations are extremely well coordinated in respect to the deadline as well as providing quality work.
Once the base is appropriately compacted, the asphalt laying process is relatively quick and its curing time is only a period of (24) hours prior to traffic.
There is also another service known as Over Laying which means you can run the lay down machine over an existing surface to help restore it. This is a process which is done to save an existing fatigue cracking issue by simply over coating the top with Hotmix. This application only requires between 1.00” – 1.50” thick asphalt.
There is no base application required during this process, the surface will then cure within (24) hours. This function can also be a solution to certain lot imperfections such as bird nests, edging…
The surface is then inspected by a 24-7 Under Pressure supervisor to ensure the quality of the application before each lot is released.
Concrete Demolition and Install
We demolish older concrete and asphalt surfaces to form and prep to a new poured surface. We can tie into existing surface by connecting Dials into existing surface, for a stronger bond. Specs used will vary upon customers’ needs or pre-configured Specs by Corporate or another agency.
New surfaces with excavation prep and form to a perfect pour.
We typically excavate any NEW surface down to 7” Deep. That gives us the room to re-stabilize or install road base and level/ compact the ground properly to have a smooth, flat surface. This will also provide an extremely durable surface and avoiding hairline cracks in the future. We can also install perimeter piers for extra subterranean support. This addition is typically used for heavy-traffic areas, heavy-vehicles passage, dumpster pads and/ or trucking hub’s.
Decorative Concrete Application
Once the area prepped and formed, we add the integral color of your choice into the delivery truck as it is getting mixed. We then pour the colored mix into the forms and as it dries, we apply the powdered release, which is the product that activates and mixes in the right color, once completely dried. The following day, we power wash over the surface to wash-off all leftover powder on the surface. At that point, we apply a polyurethane sealer on the surface for durability and a great appearance.
Stamped Concrete Application
This process is somewhat similar to decorative concrete, but includes one more significant step in the application. Once the area prepped and formed, we add the integral color of your choice into the delivery truck as it is getting mixed. We then pour the colored mix into the forms and before it dries, we apply the powdered release product as we stamp the concrete. The stamping process consists of applying the stamp stencils onto the newly poured surface and pressing down on them enough to create the 3-Dimensional stenciled look desired by customer. The following day, we power wash over the surface to wash-off all leftover powder on the surface. At that point, we apply a polyurethane sealer on the surface for durability and a great appearance.
This application is mostly used to cover hairline cracks, some minor cracking, slippery surface, old colored sealer applications and general wear and tear on the surface. We first work on the surface by grinding down about 1/8” off the top. Once surface is rough and grinded down enough, we can begin the Micro-Coating application. These products Specs range from color-options, smooth or rough surface, anti-slip surface and designer micro-coatings. This is a breathable product, allows moisture to filter through; preventing cracking and sinking. This is ideal for Schools, Malls, Strip Centers, and Clinics…
This application is somewhat similar to the Micro-Coating application, but is more cost-effective. The prepping process is identical; grinding down about 1/8” off the top, leaving a rough surface. The difference is that here, we only use concrete resurfacing material which is the same look as a fresh poured concrete slab. It can be finished smooth or broom as desired. This application does not offer any color-options or different types of surfaces.
Machine Curb Installation
We install all curbs by machine only. We can provide different types of curbs upon request, such as; ribbon curb, curb & gutter, square-top curb and more. Specs used will vary upon customers’ needs or pre-configured Specs by Corporate or another agency.
Applies to all Concrete Services
24-7 will stockpile and haul-off all spoils and debris from the site prior to finishing the project. We also pledge to leave all disturbed area as clean as it was when we initially mobilized.
