Feb. 21, 2013 - PRLog -- Service Foods, a leading provider of all-natural foods for home delivery and the parent company of Green Box Foods, has again been named as one of Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Healthiest Employers. This marks the third year in a row the company has been recognized for setting the standard for healthy workplaces.

Service Foods earned the title of No. 1 company in the Medium Company category during the 2013 awards program held at the Georgia Aquarium on February 15. Overall, Service Foods was honored as the No. 2 business in the Medium Company category, with the City of Alpharetta named as the No. 1 entity in the category.

Together, Service Foods and Green Box Foods (http://www.GreenBoxFoods.com) are committed to improving health through all-natural food, nutritional education, fitness and supplementation, thus helping prevent disease and solve America’s healthcare crisis. This vision extends to the workplace culture within Service Foods, as employees are given free access to nutritional coaching from registered dietitans, wellness counseling, health assessments and gym memberships complete with a personal trainer.

Furthermore, the company’s wide range of all-natural foods are available for free or discounted for employees and their dependents. Ongoing health and wellness programs, such the Biggest Loser contest, give employees the opportunity to receive prizes for losing weight and body fat, and lowering blood pressure, glucose levels and cholesterol. Currently, more than 97 percent of Service Foods employees participate in at least one health and wellness program, but CEO Dr. Keith Kantor says the company is striving for 100 percent participation.

“The feedback from our employees has been very positive, and our company takes great pride in making sure our employees lead a healthy lifestyle,” says Dr. Kantor.

The company’s focus on helping people to lead a healthy lifestyle is also earning recognition on a national level. Following on the heels of the September release of Dr. Kantor’s popular book "What Matters: Leadership Values That Just Might Save America," he has become a highly sought-after speaker on health-related topics such as Obamacare, nutrition, and the importance of sleep and water. He has been a featured guest on radio and television programs and authored articles for outlets such as Bloomberg Radio, CBS’ Atlanta affiliate, NBC News Pittsburgh and Your Teen magazine.

Service Foods’ successful approach to health and wellness has led to rapid growth within the company and the creation of the division Green Box Foods. The division offers nutritional wellness benefit programs, and USDA all-natural and organic foods, to corporations, associations, institutions and physician groups.

“Green Box Foods will help organizations improve their employees’ long-term health and well-being through education, good nutrition, disease prevention and activities that support a healthy lifestyle. Not only does this help enhance employees’ lives and corporate culture, it also reduces healthcare costs for both organization and their employees,” explains Dr. Kantor. “Since the launch of Green Box Foods, we have received tremendous feedback from organizations across the country and have already exceeded our initial projections.”

Dr. Kantor adds, “Together, the Healthiest Employer award, our recent recognition throughout the media and the creation of Green Box Foods prove we’re moving in the right direction and making an enormously positive impact on the health of our country.”
