NAGANT (http://www.nagantmusic.com) is the collaborative effort of composers Noah Harris (piano and voice) and Nathan Swanson (violins, viola and cello). NAGANT draws from a broad musical base incorporating a fulfilling, ear tickling mix of classical, world and Western folk influence.
The Writer Sits marks their second album and is a three year labor of love for which all of the writing, playing, and a good portion of the recording and mixing were done by the two composers with help from Grammy winning engineer at Chicago Recording Company, Jon Zacks.
Said Harris, “We’re very grateful for Jon’s guidance and expertise. We believe The Writer Sits represents a new depth of musicianship and composition for us along with a manic attention to detail.”
Jason Seed, Chicago composer, will also be debuting his sophomore album with The Jason Seed Stringet (www.jasonseedmusic.com)
Said Seed, “For In the Gallery, I wanted to delve further into blending classical, jazz and folk music into a new and unique form."
Seed has composed and performed his original works with The Chicago Symphony's Skookumchuck Strings, The Milwaukee Chamber Orchestra, The Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra, Present Music, The Prometheus Trio, The Jessica Lurie Ensemble and many others.
Tickets for the show are $10 and are available at the Chopin Theater or at www.brownpapertickets.com. For more information about the show, please contact Noah Harris at (217) 840-3024 or Jason Seed at (312) 806-3825.
