The campaign, which has been dubbed “Untamed. The new CLA,” has already garnered a ton of attention with its Super Bowl ad. While using all of the more traditional print and television ad routes, the idea to take the campaign to Instagram is highly original.
Instagram is a widely popular online photo-sharing and social networking site that provides users with a platform to upload and apply a variety of digital filters to their photographs, and then share them via Facebook, Twitter, or Google+.
The Mercedes-Benz program, launched in February, will allow participants to upload the most unique, original photos from their individual Instagram photo stream to the Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class website. The theme of the digital photo installation is “The natural enemy of the ordinary,” and it is designed to encourage creativity, with users asked to broaden their personal realm of possibilities by pushing the envelope and exploring the unusual and unconventional in the images they choose to contribute.
The assembled photos will then be part of a photo installation, which will include the new Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, and will be featured at a special showing in Paris this coming April.
Those interested in learning more about this exciting new ad campaign, or about the thrilling 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class — due to roll onto showroom floors in September 2013 — are encouraged to visit Mercedes-Benz of Hoffman Estates.
