2013 Music Festivals Applications Launched for iPhone Users

Feb. 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Quira Limited, an established provider of mobile applications, has today released four new titles which are available from iTunes for the Apple iPhone. Each application is focused on delivering useful information and a range of helpful features relating to music festivals and other live entertainment events on to the user's mobile phone.

The "UK Entertainment Venues" app includes over 730 individual entries, comprising more than 500 theatres (including London's West End), over 130 music festivals planned for 2013 and a comprehensive section for live comedy venues. Separate country specific applications focusing solely on music festivals have been released for USA/Canada (USCAFest, over 250 entries), Australia (AusFest, with more than 120 events) and NZFest featuring all known New Zealand music festivals. Each application benefits from free regular updates, as information is updated and the next season's music festival calendar becomes available.

Each event or location is provided with full address and contact details (including a website link), and interactive mapping calculates exact routes, directions and journey times from the user's current location. There's a facility to add dates and times into the iPhone calendar, and each location has a helpful weather forecast so festival clothing can be planned accordingly! Each of the applications is provided with a facility to record the location of (and more importantly accurately navigate back to) the user's tent and/or car, and we've even added a handy torch tool/flashlight to help out on dark evenings. Social media functions allow one-click status updates to friends and family.

Commenting on these new applications, Quira's Project Manager Pat Davies commented "We created these handy iPhone apps following our own experiences of struggling to find remote rural festival sites, and after a long night's dancing not being able to remember where the tent was pitched! We've taken time to listen to festival-goers and live music fans, and have incorporated all the features that they said that they would find useful during their busy festival season".
