The Best Practices of Rotating Equipment

Feb. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- 24 April- To all process engineers, design engineers, plant engineers, maintenance & operations engineer and  supervisors, here is the chance to learn more about compressors, pumps and turbines in The Best Practices of Rotating Equipment workshop hosted by Top Link Asia. This workshop will be held at the International 5 Star Hotel Kuala Lumpur Malaysia from the 13th-17th May 2013.

This course is essential for those who uses  equipment such as compressor, pumps and turbines. It covers how compressors and pumps operate and provides the guidelines and rules that must be followed for their successful application.Their basic design, specification and selection criteria, sizing calculations as well as maintenance issues          including vibration analysis and used oil analysis are discussed in details.

The trainer of this Workshop will be Ronald Frend, who is a registered engineer and has almost forty years of engineering, consulting and management experience. He rose to a senior management position in Shell International before opening an engineering consultancy in England.Ron has worked extensively in Fitness for Service applications and now presents training courses for ASME in FFS and Materials worldwide. His clients include the big names in Shell Oil, Shell Tankers, KPO,Kuwait Petroleum Company, SABIC, Saudi Aramco, Huisman (Netherlands), Noble Drilling Co, Petroleum Development (Oman), Landrover, Ford Motor Co and General Motors.

This workshop has been designed with the of objectives to:

•Apply the latest technologies in pumps, compressors & turbine and troubleshoot rotating equipment in a professional manner
•Identify the different types of turbo machinery including basic design aspects and highlighted problem areas
•Minimize compressor work by understanding the processes involved and identifying their efficiency
•Discuss axial flow compressors and corresponding velocity triangles including torque and power calculations
•List the different types of centrifugal machines including their design, installation, operation, maintenance, re-rate/ retrofit and troubleshooting
•Recognize the various beneficial design aspects of turbo machines and understand how gas and vapour cavitation occurs in pumps
• Carry out proper methods of centrifugal pumps installation, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting
