Gary, Ind February 17, 2013 – A trip that started in October, 2012 in Jacksonville, Florida ended in the Pacific Ocean in San Diego in January, 2013. Their heart-warming and inspiring story is chronicled at their website, http://fourtheroad.com.

The family, with the help of thousands of people across the South and Southwest, traveled over 2,500 miles on three bicycles and a lot of heart. Father, Rob, mother, Gail, along their children, Dakota, 15, and Luke, 8, rode the entire trip working to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to cure this disease that affects millions of Americans.

Their trip, along with thousands of photos is recorded at their website. Rob and Gail have written a daily diary that tells about every day and every mile of their journey. Dakota and Luke each also wrote their own experiences as well, sharing the perspectives and priorities of a teenager and young boy.

Their trip highlights the effect of a passionate dedication to a cause and how the support of a community can come together through the power of the Internet and a whole lot of love.

On October 11, 2012, young Luke turned 8 years old in Jacksonville, Florida. On his birthday, the family left Florida to begin their “epic bike trip.” Along the way, they were delayed by ferries that weren't working, were pushed alog with help from the faith community and lots of flat tires all along the way.

On January 7, 2013, they dipped their tires into the Pacific Ocean, with fresh haircuts donated by a barber shop along the way, and shared with the world their final day.

The family is available for interviews and speaking engagements. They also still are accepting donations for the Komen Foundation and to defer their costs from their website.

Please take a look at their website at http://fourtheroad.com and contact them or make a donation.
