Hyundai’s ‘Team’ Ad Scores the Best Among Car Commercials During the Super Bowl

Ad Blitz is a section of YouTube celebrating the best ads of the year’s Super Bowl. It allows millions of viewers to see their favorite ads and engage in discussion with other YouTube users. From the user commentary, companies like Hyundai can learn how well their advertisements were received.

The Hyundai Super Bowl advertisement generated over 14 million views on Ad Blitz, giving it the fourth largest amount of views for any automotive manufacturer. Besides the large number of YouTube views, the Hyundai Super Bowl advertisement also helped to increase social media interaction on other platforms. The Hyundai Facebook page generated 15,000 new Likes after the ad was aired. On Twitter, the hashtag #pickyourteam has been featured in user’s tweets more than 20,000 times.

According to TiVo, the digital video recording service, the ‘Team’ ad was also the third most re-watched advertisement. On the Ad Meter from USA Today, the advertisement also made it into their Top 10 overall, and was the best rated of any automotive advertisement.

In the second quarter of the Super Bowl, Hyundai also featured another advertisement called ‘Stuck.’ While ‘Team’ was the more popular of the two, this advertisement was still quite popular. It made the top 20 in the USA Today Ad Meter, and Ace Metrix also rated it eighth overall of the best advertisements for the game.

As social media continues to be a growing influence, car manufacturers must continue to find ways to offer connections between ad campaigns and social media platforms. As seen by the boost in Facebook and Twitter Activity, Hyundai is clearly leading the pack.
