The world class white water rafting centre was the venue of choice for the Friends of Durham Uni canoe club to hold their annual slalom event. Over the course of the two day event they had a packed schedule which featured a number of practice runs, races and prize giveaways. Each team was judged and rewarded with points for their team.
Each team completed a run in the canoe slalom, gaining penalty points which were added on to their completed time if they touched or missed any gates. These races have been carried out since 2004 and are backed by supporters each year. There were a number of staff organisers on hand at the event along with trained staff at the Tees Barrage who oversaw the event.
