Feb. 19, 2013 - PRLog -- (DALLAS, TX) — Alli Worthington and Barbara Jones never met before they became friends on Twitter. The two were excited to finally meet face to face at a one-day blogging event in Nashville in October 2008 and even planned to throw a small after party together. But the event was cancelled, leaving them without a means to meet.

They decided then and there to found their own event that would cater to women just like themselves—social media mavens and digital entrepreneurs looking to connect and learn from each other—and stage it in a completely welcoming and supportive environment.

The name for their new conference came naturally. Worthington founded her own online women’s magazine called Blissfully Domestic, so the friends shortened the name to BlissDom. Their first conference launched in 2008. Attendees called for repeat performances, which sold out for the past five years. Paula Bruno, Jones’s business partner in Blissful Media Group, joined the BlissDom Events team in 2009 and has been an integral part of securing and managing brand partnerships since BlissDom’10.

After five fabulous years in Nashville, this year BlissDom is moving to Dallas. The premier event, themed “Leading the Way,” will beckon 1,000 of the country’s best-known online mavens and social media pros to the Gaylord Texan Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, TX. March 21-23.

“Alli and I shared a deep desire to offer entrepreneurial online publishers meaningful tools and support. Our impromptu partnership just clicked and we both brought different skills to the table. As Alli continued gathering an inspired community of bliss seekers and expert presenters, I aligned BlissDom with sponsorship relationships and created a powerhouse environment for professional development and networking. BlissDom reflects this dynamic balance of our visions and passion for quality and community. It’s a must attend conference for social media mavens, online publishers, and major brand partners,” said Jones, CEO and founder of Blissful Media Group.

The event continues to attract heavy hitters from the social media world year after year. BlissDom’12 attendees had more than three million followers on Twitter, approximately 15 million friends and likes on Facebook, and websites that gathered more than 100 million monthly page views. Their expertise encompasses parenting, photography, food, entertaining, home décor, frugal living, fashion, beauty and healthy living.

“We wanted to create more than just another ‘blogger’ conference. We wanted BlissDom to be an uplifting gathering for women who want to share support and encouragement and also build online publishing venues that fit their lives, personal goals and values. This is a smaller, meaningful conference where women are invited to make themselves at home, define their bliss, and find the tools and lasting support they need to succeed. At BlissDom, no one is lost in a crowd,” said Worthington.
